ℹ️FAQ
How does it work?
You’ll join a chat on your phone with Eric Bloodaxe. Eric will guide you around York and give you riddles you need to solve. These riddles will relate to objects on the route and the answers will uncover his lost possessions.
How long does it take & when should I start?
The hunt takes around 1 hour, but feel free to take longer and have a break in the middle if you’d like!
We recommend starting between 9:30am-4pm. The tour is on public streets, however it ends in Dean’s Park which is open 10am-6pm, so we’d recommend starting at 4:00pm at the latest, although there is an alternative if the park is closed.
What do I need?
You just need a smartphone with data to be able to access the chat.
Who is this for?
Anyone! This is a fun activity for anyone who wants to discover York and uncover a little bit of history along the way. You can play against each other in teams, or all together! The clues are suitable for kids ages 7+, but kids younger can still enjoy it with the help of adults.
Where will we go?
Eric will take you around the historic centre of York and down secret ‘snickleways‘ too. The route is on public streets & in parks, but please bear in mind there are cobbled streets and uneven surfaces along the way.
